this is probably a pretty dumb question, but here it goes...
I've got a 2005 Jetta tdi with the BEW engine that i want to straight pipe. i am wondering if i need to tune it like you would with a gas engine or not. will it affect the performance if i don't? like will it not run right or be less reliable?
also would an egr delete cause it to need a tune? and could it cause it to not run right or not warm up as fast?

No need to tune after an exhaust job nore egr delete though you will get a CEL on the dash. If anything it will run better due to less restriction and may even see minimal mpg increases with the strsight pipe. may take another minute to warm up without the egr but I don't even notice it on my ALH. It won't run optimally, but you "technically" can run it that way.
