New b4 owner with problems and I need help

I’m new to tdis and my b4 will start and run but if you let off the fuel and let the transmission hold the rpms up at all when you press the clutch it smokes and sputters and pops and backfires. Sometimes it will straighten up and then sometimes it won’t ..... it’s physically in time and the injectors have fuel supply ..... I’ve repaired the glow plugs and it starts better now but what can cause the erratic missing

It’s something you should invest in, if you plan on keeping this car. I see used ones selling for $100.

I’m in a tight spot rn that’s why I am trying to get some help with my questions...... I found them on eBay for cheaper than that but I can’t afford it at all at this moment but it has no fuel restrictions and when you crack the injector lines it squirts fuel pretty good and sometimes it will not doe fine and others it won’t even start without ether ...... but it will run fine if you give it a little spot of ether but as soon as it’s burned out of it it goes back to the missing and smoking....... i replaced the injector seals this morning cuz they were all leaking but it didn’t change anything....... we have kids and no ride I can’t even get to work so I’m gonna get fired soon I just really need some direction with this cuz I’m about to lose my mind over it if I can’t figure it out

Without vcds, it’ll be difficult to properly asses any issues. I suppose you could haphazardly do the hammer mod or change your dynamic timing, to see if that’s the issue, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

If you can get it to stay running can you get the car to an auto parts store? If so, get them to scan it with their generic scanner.

You can look at the vag-com finder and see if there are any guys near you with vag-com.
