Looking for a better operating temp answer

My 2014 TDI Beetle is consistently running at oil temps of 220 degrees. 12 o’clock is 210 degrees. This is on the dummy gage on the dash.
Additionally, I have digital readouts that confirm an oil temp of 220 and coolant temps in the mid to high 190’s. Often 196 degrees coolant temp.
Often after driving, the fans will stay On in the driveway with engine off. I’m in New York, not the desert, and sure i drive hard.
I would like to see the coolant in the 180’s, and my oil temp pegged at 210, where i feel it belongs.
Question: does anyone suspect I have an issue? Are there variations in thermostats that can help bring my oil down 10 degrees?
In my mind 220 should be a high, not the standard.
Thanks

That would be the minimum I would want my coolant, I prefer running just shy of 205°. I run 192° and 195° thermostats in our ALH’s. Never checked oil but I don’t think that temp would bother me

The equipment I used to work on would routinely hit temps of 220 under load, I would be happy with the temps you’re running. If temps are to low diesels have problems burning fuel. Keep the hammer down, cool your coffee before your diesel

That was 220 on coolant, don’t remember what engine oil ran. Seems after 250 hydraulic oil was a concern

Your good, engine oil is 220F minimum. Keep in mind the oil does most of the cooling, coolant system just helps (a lot).

There are just too many to list....
You have no problem, stop looking for a solution. You actually want the engine to operate above the boiling point of water, so any and all water (which gets normally formed whenever hydrocarbons are burned via oxygen, because science) gets kept in gas form and taken out via the crankcase pressure regulation and breather system.

My air-cooled Vanagons would regularly tag 270F oil temps in the summer, and they only hold 3.5 liters of oil.

So there are thermostat options? You say 192’s and 196’s?

For the ALH there is, I’m not sure about yours. I believe I got them from NAPA, a 195 in mine and a 192 fail safe in Donna’s

Ok, gotta ask, what’s ALH? I couldn’t find it.

"ALH" is the engine designator for the TDI engine design from 1999.5-2003ish... several generations before your engine. :)
