Ad Blue Heater and Tank

My 2015 golf TDI needs a new ad blue heater abd tank, diagnosed by VW on 3/1.
The part is still on back order with no ETA.
The car cannot pass NY state inspection so it's technically undriveable.

VW customer care offered nothing, the dealer explains the same every time I call, no ETA, on the part.

Wondering if it's ever going to get fixed.

They must provide a loaner vehicle while the car is being repaired.

Although I think the settlement says something like "no loaner vehicle provider if your vehicle can still be driven while waiting for repair", or something to that effect. But if your vehicle is due for smog check and cannot pass, that means the vehicle cannot be driven. Dig thru the settlement documents and find everywhere a loaner vehicle is mentioned.

NY law is also really strict, and mandates that if a mechanic finds an emission problem, then the mechanic cannot return the vehicle until the emission problem is fixed. Did VW put in writing that your AdBlue system is broken?

Just got the same news on 3/28/23. VW put me in a gas guzzling rental.

Officially my car is fixed. Guess it happened on its year anniversary. Here is the juice.
Due to ‘lot rot’ which is their term. They did a full brake job, new battery, new windshield wipers, full engine service and new tires. Also I moved states and they shipped it from Colorado Springs to Duluth, Mn.
Due to being out of town I don’t have it back yet because the dealer didn’t communicate it was being shipped until it ended up in Duluth, which then that dealer had to search the vehicle history to get my contact information to ask me about the car.
I’m going to pick it up Monday 4/29/24. I haven’t seen it since 3/27/23.
Springs told me I was lucky because they’ve had another TDI on their lot for almost 2 years.

Also I’ve been in 2021 Chevy Suburban since the beginning.
I’m really going to miss ‘Cousin Eddies Motorhome’ when I go back to my Golf.
What a rides it’s been…. Pun and all.
