In 2018 I purchased my gold 2015 gold passat TDI SEL. She already had 67k miles and I've already managed to get her up to 170k. I just got done replacing the timing belt and associated parts over the weekend and driving to work today that little light popped up on the dash. Pulled the codes and it's the EGR system. I've heard horror stories with prices greater that $5k when it comes to repairs on this system so I'm hoping to get some info on weather or not I'm still covered under the diesel gate warranty. I'm doubtful but I've read some articles on here involving the 2011-2014 models having 10year 120k from date of purchase. Anything helps. I love the car and plan on having it a long time but if I can protect my wallet a bit it would be nice.

There are just too many to list....
You're out of any warranty.

However, chances are you broke the pressure sensor when you did the timing belt. Very common, VERY easy to do.

There is a thread here on it already. No big deal, dealer has them on the shelf. Open the hood, take the cover off, look for the soot around the space blanket back over the sensors atop of the engine.

Thank you! I'll look into the pressure sensor. May just replace if it's inexpensive.
The code was P240F (EGR slow)

Your 2015 isn't automatically out of warranty, even though you are past 162k miles. Check to see when Phase 2 was done, after which you can add 5 years / 60k miles to the emissions warranty. This may have already passed, but since you're not the original owner, certainly check the documents and know how it all works. We have two Gen 3 engines, both still with only Phase 1 complete.
