Well I have a '99.5 car with the original '99.5 ECU (no Immo) and an Immo3 cluster (originally FIS, now ColorMFA). When I first installed the cluster it would beep and flash the immobilizer light right after starting. Eventually I bought a used ignition cylinder, removed the immobilizer coil from it, bought a new "grain of rice" RFID pill (e.g. https://www.tunemyeuro.com/rfid-chip-immo-3/), taped the RFID pill to the immobilizer coil, matched it to the cluster and now my cluster does not beep loudly at me every time I start it.

So I'm pretty sure that the same procedure would work with your immobilizer-deleted ECU.

The previous owner has the grain for the key,
and was able to find it.
I'll swap them out and see what happens.

First TDI came with a fob and a valet. Never took the fob outa the key spot. The second had one key. That got fixed with a second that now lives in The Key Spot. Son's came with one, and I got him a second quick. Guess where that one has been living...LOL Wife loses keys more than me. Her second key I tend to keep. She knows where The Key Spot is...
cheers,
Douglas
